Join us for a slow Sunday morning of porcelain, pastries, and coffee as we create handbuilt luminaries designed to glow from within.

In this three-hour workshop, I will guide you through working with translucent porcelain to create your own one-of-a-kind luminary. We’ll explore simple handbuilding techniques and ways of piercing, carving, pressing, and altering the porcelain so that, once fired, candlelight can pass through the clay and illuminate your design.

No previous clay experience is necessary. This workshop is designed to be approachable for beginners while leaving plenty of room to experiment with more advanced techniques.

After the workshop, your luminary will be carefully dried, glazed, and fired in my gas-powered kiln, transforming the porcelain into a luminous finished piece you can bring out on dark evenings all winter long.

And because making things is even better with something delicious nearby, our morning will include coffee from Catalyst Coffee Bar and pastries from Red House Sweets.
